Easy Like Sunday...Finally.

So our four-day weekend was...

...a visit by the Roto Rooter guy (and thankfully he found no cat toys in the pipe), and two sides of the house finished...

Before
(A photo from 2006 or so)

After
(Hard to see in the photo, really, but it's a dark muted green)

...and then came the wind again, with a vengeance.

Goodbye, Russell-colored car

You can't see the interior destruction, but a part of that branch lodged itself in the center console, destroying the shift and hand brake. It took three people to get the thing out. It was quite the attraction on the street for hours!

So today we're just relaxing because we've had just a little too much excitement.

  2. Your Mom did a great job picking out the color, we love it!

Momma says there are lots of black kitties at the shelter and everytime she sees them, she thinks of you Tiny Boy.

  6. Wow excitement outside your windows, like me and the water hole a few weeks ago. I hope that was not your mum's car.

  7. Hoo boy! You had some exciting days! We like the new house color and hope insurance will take care of the car.

If Mom and my Daddy and Grandpa and Grandma lived nearby we would have helped you with the tree. That is what Grandpa and Grandma do for a living! Mom worked with them from the time she was about 9 years old (waaaaaay long ago) and my Daddy worked with them for many years too. We still have a lot of the equipment even though my Daddy cannot use it any more.

  8. My Goodness! So glad no one was IN the car when that branch hit it! Cars are easier to fix than cats or people. The house looks quite beautiful - you mom picked a lovely color, mossy and restful.

  14. Dang! We liked the color of that car. Maybe she can replace it with another Russell colored car, or even better a William colored car.
The exterior of the house looks fabulous! Really like the dark green on top. It sets off the brick nicely, and the red door is a nice accent.

  15. Crud. That is a nice car too.
The house looks awesome! Love the green. Your mommy has had lots to do. I'm glad you made it with some snuggles tho. Take it easy this week!

  16. I love the green of the house ... it really makes it POP! But I'm so sad about the Russell-mobile. I guess better the car than the house, though. Still, I'm very sad for your Mom ... what a pooper of a way to end the weekend.

  17. Poor Russell colored car. Perhaps a William colored car is in your future.

  18. Perhaps a Gracie-coloured car? Then there'd be all your colours on it! What a shame though. I'm glad no-one was hurt. The house looks lovely. You're Mommy is very clever to paint it herself. I get hives just picking up a paint brush and as for climbing ladders... Dang, where did I put those antihistamines?!

Oh yeah, 'course I can sing like Jade Ewen in the shower... Not! :) xxx

  20. Oh brother, what a mess! That was a terrible bit of luck with your Russell-colored car. Not mass destruction, but very concentrated destruction.

  25. Oh dear! We're glad that no kitty or bean was hurt by the tree falling. Poor Russell-colored car - what a sad thing.

We hope that the claims adjuster is a nice person and able to help.
