Caroline Is Really A Reincarnated Locust.

Dinner has become a race to the finish.

Here we are. It starts off OK. Posted by Picasa

Olivia always has dinner with her pet chicken. Posted by Picasa

Caroline always wins the race because she vacuums her food. She's probably ninety times faster than Olivia used to be! Then, like two seconds later and bold as you please, she pushes Eddie down one bowl and he in turn pushes me off the food line altogether. Then we realize what's happened, get into a snit and leave. Three nights in a row this has happened. So tonight Mom moved Eddie's and my dishes somewhere else so we could get a little more than half a bite.

But the dish move had her fooled only for a little while. Posted by Picasa

And to think I called Olivia an eating machine! Guess it's good that we actually prefer dry food to canned. And also that if Caroline was a locust in another life but is a cat now, she must be progressing.

  1. HEHEHE!! Funny. I'm glad to see you all more or less getting along! Great pictures too.

  2. Love the pictures. We had that same issue when Maggie joined out family. I need to study my food, and Josie is a steady eater, but Huggy and Maggie just tear into their food. When you figure out a good system, let us know ... we've given up on wet food almost completely because of the power struggle.

  3. Baby Scout does that to us too. Inhales his food then sticks his nose into our bowls. Mom has to set Scooby's dish farther away or in another room cause he eats real slow. So at food time Mom kind of does guard duty to make sure we all get our fair share. -Shaggy

  5. Mom thinks Caroline is about a year and a half--about the same age as Olivia. Olivia eats with her pet chicken because really she's a little princess and won't eat with us boys, but since she's been kind of distressed with Caroline's arrival, I didn't think it would be a very nice tiny boy of me to tell everybody that.

  6. It's a good sign that Caroline's eating. Sometimes new arrivals have a hard time adjusting and don't want to eat.

  7. I see your mum lets you guys get up on the counters too. That makes my mum feel better. But I don't get to eat there. Caroline is probably adjusting to getting regular big meals. So maybe she will be less hungary once she gets used to getting lots of love and food.

  9. I have the same problem here. My new little sister Egypt vacuums her food as well. Mostly at breakfast time, she looks to see if I finished mine. But, she's starting to lose her locust approach to eating.

P.S. If Caroline likes to talk, I bet she's like me - a siamese.
