The New Couple.

Well, Mom finally bit the bullet and bid adieu to the grinding, screeching and leaking 19-year-old washing machine. And because she had to be all matchy-matchy, she got a new Mr. Dryer to keep the new Mrs. Washer company.

The worst part of this spree, of course, was the aliens who took the ancient pair away and installed the new couple — I looked for toys behind the bookcase and Izzits hid under the couch during the terrifying ordeal inconvenience.
Mrs. Washer is very fun to listen to and stare at when she's busy doing stuff! Mom says this is her first experience with an HE machine, so she had no idea as to what to expect either. (Duh, Mom — Highly Entertaining?) All we know is that Mrs. Washer's unique language is so soothing that we can nap through it when we're done staring, and she did a Most Excellent Job of washing our cat towels and blankets. And that's the most important part, isn't it?

  2. 19 years old is really old for a washing machine, isn't it? That's how long Boodie lived, and she was very old!

  3. Ivan, I wish we had a Mrs. Washer and a Mr. Dryer, but alas, The Hubby takes everything to the laundromat. I used to be the laundry person, when we both worked full-time, but now that he's retired, he feels it's more economical 'his' way, rather than install machines at home. During the pandemic, our clothes weren't washed often, and a lot of hand washing was done! We have a terrific location for a laundry room: the upstairs kitchen, that was once a part of the apartment. There is already a gas line and plumbing! We'd only have to figure out how to vent, but that doesn't need rocket scientists to figure out, right?

  4. I am glad you are all happy with Mrs. Washer. I had a new one about 18 months ago and it is so quiet! My old one was at least 30 years old probably nearer 35, and Ivor repaired it a couple of times. In the end I said enough is enough, I am having a new one!

  5. Lay on top of Mr. Dryer when he’s running. It will be really warm!

  6. That does sound like a good one. Did you find any toys hiding?

  7. Wait - "MRS WASHER" is a "HE"? Does MR DRYER know about this? Well, "whatever"... As long as they get along, ya know.

  8. We've got a couple like that here. They are so quiet and musical, too. Mom says the jury's still out on whether or not the new washer actually washes better.
