Cat's Eye.

The last time we checked on the little dove was about 8:30 yesterday evening. By chance she had found her way to where all the feeders are and settled into a corner. Mom gave her a bit of water to drink and then bid her good night. Some time later the little dove flew away into the darkness where she didn't need to see or hear, leaving her little body behind. This evening Mom laid her to rest under one of our trees, where many little bird friends are. I can see that tree from any of my favorite windows.

What gave us at least a small hyena moment today? The mailman delivered Mom's vintage cat's eye glasses frames. They are kinda nice--the color matches her eyes and they've got sparkly things in the corners and everything--but really I don't know what she was thinking. She doesn't look a thing like a cat with them on!

  11. We are sad about the little dove. At least she was free from predators & stuff like that, so she could go peacefully.
Show us your moms glasses. She doesn't have to be in them, just a picture of them.

  15. It was the best, most peaceful end the little dove could have had. Thanks for making it possible.

It's impossible to blame a human for wanting to look more like a cat.

  16. Oh William, we are so sorry about your dove. Your mom is really kind to the birdies. We think there is probably a birdie heaven just like a kitty heaven where the other birdies will take care of your little dove.

  17. William,

Your Mom's a gem. We need more people out there like her who will take care of the little souls who need them.

Have a great weekend - it's our BC Day long weekend!
