Short crisp days make for nice naps with Mom. We had two this weekend! Aside from that, guess what I saw? A woodpecker couple and a Say's phoebe couple and some mountain chickadees, too! That is until Caroline flung herself into the window and scared them or Russell climbed the window screens and scared them. I tell you, some kids.
Anyway, this was my altar for the Day of the Dead celebration. We didn't have any marigolds so I used some dried leaves Mom collected awhile back. And Mom had one of her senior moments and couldn't find our candles so we only had the one tea light. It was OK though. I put out my sister Sophie's favorite toys and I especially liked having some of my bro Eddie's fur to put out too. When the time was right, we got to eat the treats I put out for everybody!
See you next year!
William this is a lovely alter to honor your dear Eddie & Sophie. Mom says they have a similar table set up at church and people can bring photos of their loved ones who are gone to put on it. It stays up the whole month of November.
ReplyDeleteMum says she saw a few birdies today that normally only come around during the winter. So the birdies are looking for places to hang out during the cold weather. That is why mum has foods out for them.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice that you remember the ones who came before.
That is such a nice remembrance. Mom says that she will have to participate in that holiday next year.

ReplyDeleteYour Mommy did a lovely job of her memorial for Eddie and Sophie. Ones who Came Before are very special in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteOh William, that is so beautiful! My mom is even tearing up a bit. Moms! Sheesh! I am going to tell her we should have a little altar next year.
ReplyDeleteA very nice remembrance.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very wonderful altar to remember Eddie and Sophie.
ReplyDeleteWe really like the wall hanging in the back. Mom wants to know if it's a little rug? (Mom likes stuff like that. She like birds too. So do I, but not in the same way.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful altar!!! We had one for Anastasia too, with her toys, and lots of shrimp, and a picture of her loverboy Monte, and candles that burned all day and night....
ReplyDeleteWe miss her. We REALLY like your altar!!!
