Day Off.

Well, for me, anyway. We got the counters in and the holes cut (and boy, that saw was dog loud!) and the sink in and cooktop in and the plumbing hooked up and the cat-food-that-doesn't-grow-on-trees-eater under the sink reinstalled. My aunt flew away yesterday afternoon and today Mom was trying to get errands done before we get hit with the storm. So I napped in the quiet.

All that's left is finish work and touch up stuff and various bits of fudging to make up for crooked walls and the like. So over the weekend Mom and I will do all that and I'll report the final paws up or paws down and show you the results.

Whew! I think Mom should take next week off too so we can relax like regular people do while on vacation.

  1. It does sound like you've both been working extra hard, which translates to you both need an *extra-long vacation!

  7. Wow, that's a lot of work! I don't think I would have had the stamina to do that much supervising, especially around loud things! Snoopervising my OTW playing with string isn't nearly as tiring!

Though kitten training can be tough! Speaking of kitten training, do you have any advice about how to convince girl-cats not to be camera-hogs? I know you were having some trouble with Olivia sneaking into your camera shots.

It seems little miss "Queen of the Universe" Persephone thinks every time the camera chirps, it's time for her to get attention from my OTW. Every time my OTW turns on the camera to take pictures of my gorgeous self, now that I'm feeling better and up to posing, Persephone hears the chirping and comes running over, getting her nose all up in the camera lens and flopping over practically on top of me so she HAS to be in the picture too!

  12. My Mom says your Mom has inspired her to get going on some long put off projects. She wants to know what you did with the countertops though -- she says they look better than her '70's ones which are harvestgoldyuck (I think that's all one word).

  14. Hi Joey,

You can now see the results of all our work! If your mom does this, she'll need a good helper because any of those countertops over 6' weigh a squillion pounds. So I'd recommend demanding extra treats for strength, starting now!

  16. Wow, William. Your Mom really did a great job. It must have been your snoopervising that helped her do so much.

I'm glad the storm didn't hit you. We got so much snow here in eastern NM that I almost disappeared when I stepped in it! Mom had to make a special trip to Wally-World for an extra bag of seeds for the flyers in our backyard.
