Goodbye, Eddie.

My brother passed today at about 2:00 p.m. I kept him company while he rested on Mom's lap, and for the first time ever, he let me nuzzle him. I washed his face and his ears and I think he really appreciated that.

Sometimes when he or I used to get too close to an outside door when Mom was going in or out, she'd say to us, "What if you got out and then got lost? I'd be very sad! I'd have to put an ad in the paper saying Lost boy, mom heartbroken!"

I think that's how she's feeling right about now, losing her little boy after nearly 17 years. We're all very sad, so we're going to take some time away for awhile.


I'll miss you, bro.
