Ivan's Weekend Bird Report.

My mom told us she saw a whole roadrunner family on Saturday: a dad, a mom and a very curious juvenile out for a stroll in another part of our little community. You think we get excited with roadrunner sightings? You should have heard her go on and on about it! (And you just know she clacked at them. ::eyeroll::)

Me, I'm keeping an eye out for the latest bird activity in our tree. This time it's a white-winged dove who, along with her husband, hastily built a nest in a branch very very close to our balcony over the weekend and laid an egg in it. This morning, Mom said hello to the lady dove, but the dove got upset and left the nest. Mom was worried that she'd abandon her egg like the other bird did but finally she returned. Mom said she will be very careful not to bother the lady dove when she uses the balcony to read or stare at the moon or whatever she does out there.

At least, that's Mom's excuse for not snapping a photo.

  1. It's sure been a weekend for wildlife! Why can't our moms admire US instead?? By the way, you look quite regal in that pose.

  2. Well since we don’t have Roadrunners here, we would get really excited if we saw a family of them.

  7. Ivan, we've got no photos of the roadrunners, and no photos of the doves...you are a good watchcat, but you've got to start pushing your human around!
