Movin' On.

Well, we don't know why, but the lady pigeon flew the coop over the weekend and left her egg behind. That might be OK because we just don't need any more icky pigeons, but having been abandoned myself I think I might be a little sad about it.

I sure am glad my story turned out way better!

  2. Are you sure she left... or did some bigger bird take her? :-(

    1. No, we're pretty sure she hightailed it with Mr. Pigeon. They seemed to be building another nest across the way.

    2. possibly they knew the egg was not viable?

    3. That is possible--Mom said maybe it was the winds that gusted to over 50 m.p.h. that harmed the egg. The poor lady pigeon hung on with all her might, but maybe that's what happened. And even though Mom is not a pigeon fan, she did worry about her and checked on her all through that ordeal.

  3. Maybe she was sick or maybe some bigger bird hurt her. I feel sad for the baby even though it is still an egg.

  4. That’s sad, Izzy. But we’re sure the lady pigeon did it for a good reason. Now for why you were abandoned...there is no good reason.

  6. Glad you had a better ending too. Birdies get weird and leave their nests sometimes.

  7. Oh Izzy, I just want to pick you up and snuggle you! Someone abandoned Manny and Chili Bruce too. While I feel sad about that, I am thrilled that they are now part of my family! I know your mama feels the same way about you and Ivan!

  9. Nature works in strange ways. No danger of running out of pigeons, though.

  10. Don't be sad Izzy, the parent pigeons probably knew the egg wasn't good and will start again.
