Then I got cross because it turns out the suspicious creature she called about was some stoopy human at the building next door, not a cat in my own home. But then I thought maybe the suspicious creature was really a cat burglar and he was looking to steal Ivan and I was hopeful again! And then I realized my stoopy mom had just taken steps to make him go away!
Well, of course the suspicious creature who may have been a cat burglar looking to steal Ivan disappeared into the ether before the cops got there. So I am right back where I was.

It's lucky that the suspicious character disappeared even though he didn't take Ivan with him. I don't think your mum would have been very happy if he did though.
