Elliott's Malaise.

I wasn't going to broadcast this because this getup is pretty embarrassing. My vet says I have to wear this air pillow around my neck for six weeks. I was just going to hide or use unused photos for any posts that came my way, but I can't do that for six weeks.

I developed an aural hematoma a few days ago. So in addition to the air pillow, I have a little drain thing attached in my ear. None of this will affect my hearing, but—giant :-(—my favorite ear will be all wrinkly like an old lettuce leaf when it's all healed.

In six weeks!

At least my mom said No to The Cone.

  4. Oh Elliott, I am SO sorry sweet boy. I hope those weeks fly by and that you get better quickly. Your ear will still be sweet to all of us, because we love you JUST the way you are...just as Mr Rogers used to say. He was a wise man.

  5. Oh Elliot, I'm so sorry you have that donut pillow stuck around your neck. It must feel really strange. Hopefully the 6 weeks will seem to fly by and your ear will be healed.

  6. The inflatable collar isn't so bad - I wore one after my spay when I was a kitten - but then, I didn't have to wear it for SIX weeks!

Actually there's an advantage to a wrinkly ear, at least for us readers: it'll make it easier for us to know which black kitty is which!

  7. I wore one of those after my 2nd and 3rd spay operations. No fun, but better than a cone. ~ Ayla

  10. Elliott! Poor boy, sending you hugs. Don't be embarrassed, honey...we love you no matter what! I am curious, however...wonder if your momma will take photos so we can see the drain thing too. I'm off to search 'cat aural hematoma'...

  15. Oh Elliott! I had to wear the cone of shame for about a week and it was awful. I tried the pillow collar but I didn't like it much. ~Ernie

And I gotta ask, Pal: Did somekitty clobber you?
