Thank you all so very much for your kind words. They have meant so much to us during this heartbreaking time.
Russell was diagnosed with acute renal failure. This is the same awful thing that took PQ only a few months ago. Because two instances so close together are very unusual and the typical causes aren't present, Dr. R. thought it might be a bacterial infection that caused it. Testing for that is not terribly reliable, but we decided to try a course of antibiotics.
This may only be postponing the inevitable; he had a few relatively good days and then a not so good day. This afternoon he's got his appetite back and is receptive to my affection, but the roller coaster ride continues. Our goal is to make sure he is comfortable and with us as long as he can be.
Oh Russell, mom here is weeping for you. PLEASE get better darling boy and enjoy your family giving you loves. Please feel better. Please.
