Well, we've had a short break in the heat. I think it's only in the high 80s today, which is wonderful. We're liking the afternoon/evening rains, too.
So I'm waiting for the clouds to water us again today.
Last night was so noisy, it was unbelievable! What with fewer permits granted to fireworks sellers and the ongoing fire danger, you'd think people would be smarter, wouldn't you? The cops were busy all night tracking down the ones shooting off illegal ones, and I guess there were a lot of those, too.
I am pretty sure this is the worst it's been for me since I was abandoned as a very very tiny boy. We all hid under the couches, and my mom put music on and the fans on to make some distracting sounds for us. I sure hope that everybody is all fireworked out now because I really don't like it one little bit.
Anyway, the weekend is almost here! Have fun, everybody, and stay cool!
We are glad you guys got threw the big bangs safely! Thank Cod it only happens twice a year. Could you send some of that cooler weather to us please!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry the firecrackers were so scary. Those people are incredibly stupid. Hope you stay cool, calm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteIt is supposed to start to cool off this weekend. We hope so. You stay cool.
ReplyDeleteOh Honey...it's all over. I clung to mommy yesterday and this afternoon when a mean thunderstorm came here and scared us.
ReplyDeleteWilliam, we are glad you are a bit cooler and that you survived the bang makers!!!
ReplyDeleteFor years, beans were not allowed to buy fireworks, now you get them in dollar stores :/
We live just outside the city and hear them often. We do not like them either!!!!!
Have a cool weekend.

We are glad your weather is cooler but so sorry the fireworks were so intense. Audrey and I stayed pretty calm here where there was a combination of medium sounding booms from the town fireworks display and the sound of the Macy's fireworks on the tv. But nothing loud.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting with your kind words about Terrence.
Glad that's over fur you! We didn't have any this year due to fire danger. We kittehz didn't miss it at all!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why fireworks turn humans into dumb, mechanical explosion machines. But it happens. I am never sorry to see this holiday be over.
ReplyDeleteAw, sweet William, I'm sorry those loud noises scareded you. I am SUCH a coward about almost everything that the Human can't believe I am not skeered of loud outdoor noises!
ReplyDeleteWe 'ported "out-of-country" yesserday evening here. It was NICE AND QUIET! But some idiot (er, patriotic Bein) here saved a few fer tonite, so we spent some time UTB annyway!
ReplyDeleteI hope the fireworks are done around you too! Around here they start sometime in early June and end by August... People just dont get that it's only special when it's once a year... not that kitties like it even that once!
ReplyDeleteStaying cool isn't a problem by us. Have a good one recovering from all that noise!
ReplyDeleteAw, we sure hope you all have a quiet and calm weekend, with perfect temps for window whiffies!
ReplyDeleteour naybors set off those boom things too and we all hided unner the bed.
ReplyDeletewe hopes that it's cool for you this weekend!
Aw, I hope your temps are staying out of the Misery Zone. It's hard for those of us who cannot remove our fur coats :-( Be cool, Kitties!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it through the fireworks...they can be very scary! Stay cool! It's still uber-hot here in the Minnesota Jungle.

Beans can be so dumb about fireworks. We didn't get any booms here because of the fire danger. I guess the stores weren't selling them at all. We are also enjoying the cooler temps and the rain, such as it is.

Aw William, sweetie.. i'm sorry about all the scary racket. Our 4 kitties don't like it either. Humans have loud ways of celebrating sometimes. Hope all is better now. The weekend is over, so things should be back to normal.. :)
