Tuesdays With Russell.

Things are looking up! Ha ha ha!

Mom closed on the house today. I see all things cat flowing again! Plus, she won't have to make those every-other-day trips over there to water the container plants. I just hope she left enough of our fur behind so that the new buyers know the house was owned by cats. That is most important.

On the other paw, PQ has gotten quite stressed with the heat and the new place and maybe even us. So she's been sequestered in the bathroom for some peace and quiet and so Mom could determine whether she was stressed or sick. It's stress. The whole place had suddenly become her cat box, which was very bad. In the bathroom she is using the real box normally and seems much happier and lovey-dovey to Mom. I'm kinda jealous because it is the coolest room in the house in these times of heat.

You may have heard about our fires. We just don't get how dumb some people can be living in a desert with a terrible drought going on, but there you have it. A lot of smoke blew in this afternoon but it's not smelly and it did dim the sun. We're all very sad and worried about the fires (Herman and his family have had to evacuate) but this did cool things off for us a bit. And that dumb cooler is not so bad when the outside temp is 90° or lower. So we're good!

  1. We're glad to hear that you haven't been affected by the fires but I don't know how you deal with the heat. You should definitely convince your human to get one of those portable A/C thingies. We've got a couple of them and they work purrfectly.

  2. I am happy the fires are not threatening you, and VERY glad that the house closed! My human remembers selling her old house and that was very stressful! We have all been purring that Herman and his family stay safe!

  4. Since your mom is no longer stressed, PQ may become less stressed also. Heat can make one to act funny on occasion. Hopefully you'll get some sardines and KFC for the 4th of July.

    Stay safe from the smoke.

  5. Ya, I'm a little worried about Herman and his family, too. and really HOW can some people be so dense? We've had fires out here before and it's always from something stupid a people did. Don't they think???

  6. Sounds like there's stress for human and cat alike. Russell, dude, you might be the only one who's relaxed these days.

  7. Hey Russell, we sure hope they get those fires out soon. You look pretty relaxed, maybe some of it will rub off on PQ.

  8. I hope the PQ chills out soon. We are super-happy for your Mom. Plus, now she can have all that extra time to pay attention to you, which should always be her first priority anyway of course, but selling a house is a pretty Big Dealio!

  9. Hurrah for selling the old cat-furry house! We hope Miss P Queen relaxes soon; maybe your Mom will have some spare papers for a NEW CAT TREE and some Feliway spray now...
Mommy is just sick about these fires. She is worried about her Mom & Dad in Tucson.

  11. We are glad that you aren't getting anything but smoke and maybe some ash. That's what we get when there are fires near us too.

We hope the hots go away soon. We only have fans going - not AC, so we are jealous of anyone with AC.

  12. Actually, we think it is SO COOL being in a new house. We have been in the same place FOREVER! We mean, even old Skeeter an LC were in this place.

But it would be hard ta give up all our accustomed/known mousie holes, so we're not sure...

  14. We are worried about those fires. Hope they get them controlled VERY SOON!

Poor PQ. I hope her confinement for a while helps out with the peeing issues and her general stress level.

  15. Hey there, Russell Bustle! You're looking particularly handsome today. We're sorry it's so hot out there - it's pretty hot here, too, but at least we don't have any fires. Those are scary! Stay cool, and tell PQ to relax. (And when she comes out of the bathroom, try not to pester her.)

  16. Glad things are cooling off. Our human is stressing because the Male is thinking he wants to sell the house and it looks like he might be able to get what he wants to get from it too.
