Earth To ?

So my mom brought home this odd little solar light a couple of weeks ago. It's for our patio, and she got it to replace the temperamental one that sometimes worked and then sometimes took long vacations. Well, it was such a bright change! We all got excited because at night we could clearly see the mom cat and baby cat statue my mom got for me, and she was so tickled that she got another light right away to keep the first one company.

With her having some days off last week and all of us staying up until all hours, we started noticing something weird about the odd little solar lights. First, despite a full sun charge and even new batteries, at best they're illuminated for about four hours. Not a real big deal, we suppose. But then, something very weird has been happening after they are both dark for the night. Over the last two nights, one has started beaconing at regular intervals, on, then off, then on, then off. This goes on for hours!

Well, you know what I think. It's clearly sending a message to that planet with all the cats on it. I don't know what it's really saying yet, though. I don't think we were supposed to see it.

Or, maybe someone's sending a message that they found my brother. That would explain a lot.
