There's a mean cat who keeps coming into my yard and screeching and screaming in the middle of the night and making the motion detector light in the front go on off on off and coming right up on our front porch and spraying our deacon's bench and then the tires on Mom's car. We get all agitated when he's around, and we don't like it and wish his careless parents would keep him in nights.
Evidence.
I think he did something mean to Mrs. Sphinx Moth too. I was hoping she just flew away but in my tiny boy heart I don't think she really did.
At least there are some eggs left unharmed (12 out of 19),
so I guess she'll fly on through her children.
oh my gosh....I knew Smokey was finally moving out of my neighborhood but I didn't know he was moving to your's!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your baby caterpillers!
ReplyDeleteMomma is surprised about those eggs like that, all plastered against the wall.
ReplyDeleteShe says she smelled something bad outside our door the other morning and thinks we had a Big Man Cat with all his parts visiting us. I would kind of liked to see him, but only a little.
Precious
Poor moth, but you are right, most of them die anyway after they lay eggs, and, well, cats are predators, even though I agree he should be kept in at night. Can't wait to see the little ones.
ReplyDeleteTara
Maybe the Mommy moth flew off? Hopefully, we hopes her eggs hatch ~poiland Tribe
ReplyDeleteWilliam we are furry sorry about Mrs. Moth because she was your friend. But moths taste good and they are Trixie's favorite snack.
ReplyDeleteAww, William, I hope you have a whole new batch of mothy friends soon. Maybe that mean cat is courting you but hasn't yet learned the subleties required to get a man's positive attentions...screaming ain't gonna do it!
ReplyDeleteOh we used to have a kitty that did that in our neighborhood... she also climbed our window screens.
ReplyDeleteWe finally got the animal control involved... and the neighborhood association.
We used to get so upset with that kitty in our territory and we dont even go outside. :-(
we is sorry about mrs moth, we hopes her eggs hatch.
ReplyDeletemaybe someone needs to catch that kitty and gif him a hoo-ha-ectomy?
Well, he has some nerve coming up on your porch to do his territorial marking! Maybe your Mom could put out some repellant to discourage his spraying.
ReplyDeleteOh William, we are sorry about your tiny friend. We think she will live on through her babies too. There is a very sad kitty that comes around here and mom used to put out some food for her. But them some not-so-sad kitties came around too. So now we can't feed the sad kitty any more. And that makes Mom sad too...
ReplyDeleteWilliam, if you ever catch the mean cat who gotted Mrs. Sphinx, at least you have the evidence.
ReplyDeletePoor Mrs. Sphinx Moth. I hope her babies will still hatch without a Mommie moth around.
Poor William. I'm sorry your Mrs. Sphinx Moth has eggs to carry on without her. It is sad that people won't take care of their cats. Especially if he is spraying, he isn't snipped. Poor kitty, he doesn't know any better.
ReplyDeleteWe're uber lucky to have our nice homes!
I hope that the kitty who wanders around your home has humans who will wise up and 1.Keep him indoors and 2. Get him snipped!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Mrs. Sphinx Moth got eaten. Do the baby eggs need anthing special to help them hatch? Our baby birds need to stay warm by their mom or dad sitting on them. Have you been able to google Moth baby eggs to see how long it takes them to hatch and become caterpillers? Tommy and I are thinking warm thoughts for your baby Sphinx Moth eggs.
