How To Get Dinner.

Sometimes when Mom gets home from hunting and after she's read the paper, she does a very cat-like thing and takes a nap before dinner. She always invites us to join her, even though we've been napping all day and it's our time to play and then eat. Anyway, we humor her and pile on her for a little while. Then, after about fifteen grueling minutes, I get up and want her to get up because I need dinner. When she pretends to not notice, I rattle her closet door trying to get it open. This always gets her attention. And not only that, but she usually has to fling my sisters off her to get up.

Actually, you know? That part might even be better than dinner!

  1. Wow, William. Your Mom is very lucky you are willing to wait so long for your dinner! You are a pateint tiny boy and it seems your sisters are even more patient.

  2. You should be proud of your mom for acting so much like a cat! You trained her very well.

  3. Tara is right. Cat behavior in a mom is very good. When Tommy and I sleep with our mom we like to squeeze up really close to her legs and then she can's move. I don't know why she feels she has to move while sleeping anyway.

  4. Great tactic! I flick at the pictures on the wall over the dresser or...and she loves this...I pluck at the carpet.

You have to keep them in line somehow!

  5. Oh this is a great idea! What would the humans do without our constant training... they would melt into a heap.

  6. Nice. It's like a gift of not just dinner, but bugging your sisters. Very nice.

  7. I have learned that trying to open the food door with my paws is a wonderful way to get Mommy off of her behind and feed us! And if she has one of my siblings on her lap - well that's just extra value to the whole situation!

  10. I like to bang the cabinet doors in the kitchen - then she thinks I'm getting into something! Whatever works!
