I was on my cat tower just watching my hummingbird pals when I saw something very shocking. Get this: A bunch of times a girl bird would try to feed in peace when a boy bird would dive-bomb her and make her fly away! He also would fly at her when she'd try to go to the other feeder. He just wouldn't leave her be!
And then it dawned on me: it was like the Ivan and Caroline show in bird form!
O.M.C!
Whoa! That must have been something.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the exact same thing with my hummies! But I find it is not gender dependent -- those birds are mean when they are feeding! PS did not get your email-pls reemail! thanks
ReplyDeleteYeah, we see bully hummer's at our feeder too.
ReplyDeleteMOL, Izzy!
ReplyDeleteOh my. We're so thankful for our gals-only community
ReplyDeleteIs the hummer a potential lunchtime treat?
ReplyDeleteIzzy, you are trying to say that you are innocent of dive-bombing Caroline...only Ivan does it? Heh?
ReplyDeleteIzzy, I forgot to mention that you look very handsome in this photo!
DeleteIvan IS a bit of a naughty boy...truth be told. And the only girl. You guys need another girlcat to even up things a bit.
ReplyDeleteDang, a Dive-Thru window!
ReplyDeleteoh my cod iz rite but knot for dde same reezonz !!!! ☺☺♥♥
ReplyDeleteYou look very interested in the hummer TV show, Izzy. It is the sparrows here who are the bullies and they chase off the blue tits.
ReplyDeleteWe guess birds can be just like us cats. So how do you tell a boy hummer from a girl hummer???
ReplyDeleteGreat observation.
ReplyDeleteThat happens with our hummers too.
ReplyDeleteIvan bothers Caroline too?
We thought it was just you ;)

We don't like it when the hummers are being territorial. There's plenty of food for all of them.
