Thawed.

Well, the last surprising gasp of winter has left us. We had rain, snow, hail, wind and COLD COLD COLD. We were glad that we could still turn on the heat -- because we needed it for three days in a row. We even had The Return of the Cat Blanket for the couch!

We got our two little hummingbird feeders up the weekend before last but forgot that it was the signal to the universe to crank up the winds. Days went by and of course no little birdies came to try to feed from constantly swinging feeders. And then one fell off its hanger today and crashed to the ground, right after Mom had cleaned and refilled it. Now there's only one little one left. And we thought Boom! early Mother's Day present! Thank Cod shopping on the interwebs is so easy for cats!

  2. Izzy, you are charming in the forest! And adorable besides!

Yepper, we have had 25 mph sustained winds and gusts to 45. The poor hummers are blown OFF the feeder while they try to eat. So far it is still hanging but the rain is so severe I have to keep refilling it as it gets diluted with rain water.

  8. Izzy, we haven't put away our snow shovels yet, for fear of bringing in a blizzard! We've gotten coldish weather again; rain and grey, but everything is budding out anyhow.
