Caroline's Day.

I swear I can hear sand hill cranes flying south! They must know it's about to get very cold tonight.

But no matter how hard I try, I can't see them. They are loud, though – like me sometimes!

  1. That would be a neat thing to hear. In Pennsylvania, we hear Canada geese more than anything else.

  2. Mum just saw some yesterday still out in the fields. They haven't left here yet.

  3. You know what, Sweet Caroline? We don't even know what a sand hill crane is! But the colds is a good thing--at least *I* think so. I do not care for the hots. Except for you, of course. XOXOXO

  5. I hope it is not too cold and you keep nice and warm. It is very mild, but wet here. Usually the Canada Geese have arrived by now, but the only ones here are the ones that decided to stay all year and breed on the marshes. They are very noisy too when they fly overhead.

  6. Haha, Spitty, we were just thinking the same: we don't know what you heard (though it sounds interesting). We were first thinking that it's just another English word we don't know... but turned out it's more a of a cultural one!

  7. Your sand hill cranes fly away? Ours are here year round. Can we send ours to you in the spring before they get testy and start to attack the windows of our house again?

  8. We do not have sandhill cranes here.
We can tell the colder weather is coming when the leaves change colour
and fall off the trees. The leaves are almost gone now.
Caroline, you are not that loud.
We can't hear you from here ;)
