Caroline's Complaint.

Some nights I sing to my mom from outside her bedroom door. (OK, maybe a lot of nights.) I demonstrate my full range of voice, which is very varied, by the way. You would think she'd relish these musical interludes, wouldn't you? After five or 30 minutes of aria, do I get a 'Thank you, sweetie'? Do I get a 'Come in, little girl'? No. I get "Caroline! Shut up!"

Well. This is what I think of that.

  1. What? You mean she does not let you in her room :o
We pile on mom's bed. She complains she has no room.

  3. Hey, that's OUR bed. We are just kind hearted enough to let the Mom have a piece of it.

  4. You poor dear. I tend to do my singing in the morning and I often get a similar response. I don't remember ever being told to "shut up" but I often get "Raven, be quiet!" Then mom tries to make me snuggle on the bed, but that's not what I want, I want them to get up and enjoy 5 am with me!

  6. Maybe if she didn't CLOSE her DOOR, you would not have to SING so LOUDLY and OFTEN. XOXOXOX my little CG

[TBT here: I do it to get her to shut up and settle down so I can sleep]

  10. It's not fair that your efforts are not appreciated. I get the same when I walk around the garden serenading the moon.

  11. Not fair. You have every right to sing inside the room if you want to.

  12. Caroline isso é grave! Uma diva como você cantando e sua mamãe não retribui seu talento... imperdoável.

  13. You poor dear, not aloud in the room, that's just awful. Mom would never do that to us. She does tell Doc Watson to stop jumping to from the bed to his perch and back again, and again, and again. You get the picture. She finally calls him to her and he lays on her chest for an hour or so and finally jumps up one last time to his perch until chow time in the morning and he jumps down and kisses her awake.

  15. Singing the song of your people (the MEEZER type people that is) should be cherished.
