The Accidental Truce.

First of all, we want to thank everyone for your supportive words about Charlotte. Although she could not find happiness with us, we hope that very soon she will find a new family where she can be their one and only baby. It was hard for my mom to let her go, since they had no trouble bonding almost immediately, but she knew that Charlotte deserved peace too.

In the meantime, Charlotte's being here caused Caroline to stop being so snappish with me, a definite plus! The one down side to Charlotte's being here was once a few weeks ago when I got stuck in her little covered litter box and it tipped over on me and trapped me like a rat! My mom thought that was pretty amusing, but I certainly didn't. I also didn't like that she said I should probably go back on a diet!

Anyway, we're back to just us now. We're thinking that things just have to get better from here!

  4. It is a shame that it didn't work out but it is no good all three of you being unhappy. Hopefully Charlotte will soon get her new home and you and Caroline can continue with your truce.

  5. We're sorry it didn't work out. It's probably harder on your mom than either of you. Charlotte can find the kind of home she needs now. In the meantime, both of you would be extra-sweet to your mom, because she needs the extra love right now.

  11. Dear William and Caroline,

We have not blogged or gone visiting in such a long time, but we were sure very sad to stop by today and learn that Russell had left for the Bridge. We will miss his handsome orange and white face and all of his fun and silly antics. We are also sorry that the lovely Charlotte did not find it a good fit in your home. We are sure you were very nice and welcoming to her. Hoping that 2014 is a better year for all of you.

  14. Sometimes it just doesn't fly. Marigold can tell you about THAT; though I've gotten to the point of properly ignoring her tiny furry magnificence, she and Snickers still get into yowly-growly hissy-spitty fights about twice a week. Mister Dad says Mom should let them work it out, but both Mom and I think it's sad and orful, and whenever they have spitty-time, I run over to wherever they are fighting and contribute by making my Unhappy Noise. Eventually they get over it and go back to being a cuddle-puddle, but I think it's just much easier if everyone's aloof and standoffish and leave all the roller-coaster emotional drama for the hoomins, for when they watch News with Foxes.

Hopefully you and Screamoline can be better friends now...and I really hope Charlotte finds a good foreverhome. Good foreverhomes are very, very important things.
