The Worst Day Of My Tiny Life.

The move was terrible, terrible, I say! On top of the whole house being in an uproar for days--which was pretty upsetting in and of itself--on Friday we were all trapped like rats in the bathroom for hours! When my mom finally let us out, we realized that aliens had come in and stolen our furniture!

Everything but the dreaded troll boxes, though. Everybody got in one except me. I yelled, I hissed, I spit, I attacked, I drew a lot of blood. And do you know what happened? MOM LEFT ME BEHIND!*

After about a hundred days**, she finally came back. She said she knew I was upset but we were all upset and I couldn't stay there alone. She told me my bro was wondering where I was and that my sisters were worried. She gave me some treats and didn't even seem mad about the arm that I'd about shredded. But still I didn't want to get into the troll box.

Well, obviously I finally got in it. And when I got to the new place I skulked off to the best cupboard I could find and refused to come out. See?

I am really mad.

I did come out for about ten minutes in the middle of the night and visited while everybody was sleeping on Mom on the futon, but I don't think she saw me. I went back to hiding and stayed hiding until Saturday afternoon.

Things are better now. I'm getting used to the new place. But I don't know what happened to my cat tower or my mosaic or some other things.***

--------------------------------------
*William was unbelievably upset and I thought it best to let him calm down a little. Moving with five cats was a little trickier than I had anticipated.

**It was about 20 minutes.

***Moving didn't go nearly as smoothly as I had hoped, mainly because getting the new place ready took much longer than I had planned and I had not come close to finishing packing up. So, there's still stuff back at the house, I'm scheduling the movers again for the rest of it, hopefully I can have a yard sale to get rid of stuff I'm really not taking, and then one of these days I'll get the house ready for sale. Because there is still
that.

  1. OMC William we feel TERRIBLE for you. But it could be worse. At least you didn't travel 4 hours in a mail sack stuffed under a seat in an AIRPLANE!!! Although Russell might have liked that.

We hope you get to like your new house soon, and your Mom's arm heals up.

  2. William, this just sounds terrible! Of course, dogs don't mind moving nearly so much, but Olivia was rather upset when we moved from our previous house to here. Tanner & Finn have never moved, and I am sure they would be really upset if we ever did. We hope the new house will soon feel like home for you, and I hope there will be some new bird friends for you to watch after.

  3. Somehow, when I am really, REALLY upset, drawing blood makes me feel quite a lot better. Kudos!

I think it's inexcusable that you were shoved in that TERRIBLE box and dragged against your will halfway across the country after being left alone for like elebenty million hours or maybe 20 minutes. It's an outrage, that's what it is.

How's the Pretzel? And Screamoline? And the others?

I've really missed you William. I hope you come out of the cupboard often enough to post and visit once in awhile.

My Human says she feels for your Mom, but I think her sympathies are sadly misplaced.

  5. I hope in the end you will love your new place. Also that Mom can manage to bring your cat tower for you. It sounds like a lot of work for dear Mom, so be easy on her. She loves you all.

  8. We have heard about "moving". It sounds horrible. If TBT ever says that werd, we are gonna bite his ankles!!!

  9. When we moved, my human actually moved us first, before the movers came. She stuck us in a room with food and some toys while the movers went to the old house and got the furniture and stuff. The only one who was not happy with this arrangement was Binga. But then, she is not happy with anything that involves 1) change and 2) her losing control. Are you the same way, William?

  10. OMC, William, it sounds terribly traumatic. We hope it won't scar you for life...Maybe you need some couch time with a kitty therapist.

Our human says to tell your mom she's sorry things didn't go smoothly, but that she hopes the worst is over.

Purrs and kitty kisses and hugs all round!

  12. We feel your pain. Last time we moved we got locked in the bathroom at the old place and then had to stay in those lock up containers until all the furniture was in the new place. Tigger was so afraid he didn't come out of hiding for almost a week.

But we hope you mom can get things settled in soon!!! Remember, this is hard on her too...

  13. Poor, poor William. Your mom should've had a couple rolls of fresh weatherstripping ready for the PTU ride and at the new house to make it easier for you. We hope the new place is offering new exploration opportunities.

    Lots of purrs, William.

  14. Dear sweet tiny boy!
    What an awful ordeal!
We had to do it wehn we were 5 years old (We're 10 now) when we moved from our other lady's house to this house, but we are the only things that got moved. We think we'd go crazy to if furniture & stuff was all in disarray and all that fracus going on!

  17. Oh poor William - and poor Mom. Our mom is getting twitchy just thinking about moving. It's really a very stressful event for everyone. And every single time my mom has moved, the cats who were with her at the time managed to find a great hidey hole, and my mom was convinced they escaped. Every time! hahahha!

  22. Hi William! Hope your days are getting better & that you've moved out from under the sink ;-) You gotta be patient with the Human, William. She's doing her best, even though we both know the Human best is nowhere near the Kitty best.

  24. William, we're sorry you're so upset, but just try to relax. After a while you'll feel OK about your new home. Maybe a calming collar would help you.
