Weekend Recap.

The cake was a bust. We knew better than to even be in the kitchen. I finally sent Mom to the store to simply buy a cake so as not to sicken a departing colleague of hers.

The space left by the departing colleague which by the previous week was already spoken for suddenly became quasi-available in a kind of time share arrangement. Mom will be hunting off-site three days a week now, which is going to seriously bite into my mom time arrangement.

I had to help Mom locate and repack all the office files and stuff she had packed up for storage or put away the previous week when the space wasn't available, which is why...

We watched a bunch of Lost episodes Saturday and Sunday to see other people who are lost.

Yesterday the yard was turned into William Lake (1.6 inches of rain in about an hour). I got to see a lot of my snail pals afterwards. Mom got to see the downspout on the patio gutter fall off again.

Last night a random cat tried to get into a window. Tried to get right inside!

We all got treats on schedule. (Not the random cat, though.)

We are so glad that vacation starts in less than a week.

  1. Oh, poor William. Your life is just too stressful! Why don't you come to San Francisco for a few weeks? It might not be much cooler, but on the plus side: No Russell/Caroline Wars or intruder kittehs that try to come RIGHT THROUGH THE WINDOW!grolseo

  2. OMC, you almost had a cat burglar! I'm so glad he didn't get in. It sounds like a lot has been going on at your house!

  3. Yikes, we haven't had a kittie try to get inside for ages. Not many roaming cats in our area.

  4. Holy Cats! An introoder kitty? Maybe he was responsible for the icky dead thing by the garage door the other day...trying to butter up YOUR Mom with gifts.

Vacation is good! Lotsa Mom time.

  5. Our mom loves to decorate cakes but she's always meowing about the way cakes turn out in this state. She says it's the state for sure because she's made cakes in other states and never had this problem...maybe she's right?

  6. Hi Reighnie,

Nice to hear from you again! My mom says it is definitely this state. It's why she hasn't made one in years and years (I guess she forgot the inevitable outcome.)

Hope things have gotten better for you. :-)

  7. Well, it sounds like purchasing a cake was the prudent thing to do.

  14. Good idea about the cake. Mom made a cake for Dad's birthday that was supposed to be a dragon, but it looked like a big green booger! Nothing says Happy Birthday like a giant booger...
