Tuesdays With Russell.

You know, I really don't mind too too much going to the cat fix-it place because everybody there just loves me and tells me I am the most handsome boy! I get kisses and everything! And the shots were nothing, really, they were so quick. But it's the car ride I hate. I mean, the new and improved me-color car is nice and all, but I did cry and cry and cry my most pitiful best so that Mom would know how unhappy I was. But it's all good now.

And the tree guys came yesterday early and were here all day. Boy, did they make a major racket! William sat in the window and snoopervised everything. I watched for a little while with that one guy going up and down and sideways in that bucket thing but the whole business was a little too loud for me so mostly I napped in the back of the house. When Mom came home for lunch she was re-bummed about the loss of the tree--even if it was pretty much all dead. And the poor men who had the job must have been just dying in that heat. Mom even helped with some sweeping and raking so they could get home some time before their next birthdays. They left a little after 7:00 and finally it was quiet. And this evening when a storm rolled through and the wind picked up? We didn't have to worry any more about flying branches impaling cars and things. So I suppose that's good...although we will all miss it.

Goodbye, great big tree.

  1. What a fine looking tree. I can see why your person was bummed to loose it. It looks like a grand one.

  3. We are sorry the tree had to go, but you don't want it to crush any more cars. We are glad your vet visit went okay, and that you didn't mind the shots. We don't like to ride in the car either.

  6. I'm sorry to see your tree go. And I hate that there was so much noise. I agree about the car rides ... sheer torture! Also, I am really enjoying your Monday Memories, too.

It's sad when a big tree like that has to go.

  9. I guess even big trees have to die sometime. I wonder how old it was? It's sad though to lose a tree at any age.

I wonder if there is a tree heaven or rainbow bridge where trees go?

  10. Sorry about your tree guys, but perhaps it was for the better...

We hate it when the noisy outside lawn people come and do work, we hide too.

  13. The tree must have witnessed a lot over its long life. All things must pass, everything must go...

  14. Better a dead tree be gone than come crashing through your roof, Russell. And the best thing is you napped through the whole thing!!

  15. We understand about being sad that the big tree is gone. It was very majestic looking and we're sorry that it died.

Glad that you didn't mind the vet so much as the trip there! We're the other way around and growl and hiss when we get there.

    Have a nice weekend,

    Charlemagne and Tamar

  16. Russell, my mom was sad last year when we had to have a couple trees remvoved too. And they were just basically dead trunks.

One thing about the car ride, make sure to mew and mew and mew. Then shut up real quiet for a few minutes. That really shakes em up! Glad to hear you survived!
