Fly Away.

I'd been watching for my bird pals when I noticed a little girl finch sleeping on the patio. None of my other bird friends did come by, I guess because they didn't want to disturb her.

When Mom got home from hunting I told her about the little sleeping bird. I was getting kind of worried because she'd been there for ages and was in the shade now and probably pretty cold on that cement. So Mom went outside to check on the little finch for me.

I watched out the window as Mom carefully picked up the little finch. She put her in a special bed under one of our trees where the sun shines all afternoon and she can rest peacefully. Mom put a little rock there so I can find her place right away and wave when I visit with the rest of my friends.

  7. How do you know, Tiny Boy, that it is a girl finch. Did it have on a dress or a hair ribbon or something? I hope she is OK...Momma says the birds kill themselves when they hit our window and it looks like they are sleeping, but they are really at Rainbow Bridge.
