Mother's Day Update: You guys had some good ideas. I especially liked the Love Coupons idea. But I should have told you I've been saving! Mom lets me keep anything she finds when she's working in the yard. So far I have about eight marbles, one quarter, one dime, one nickel and four pennies. What do you think I can get with all that?

  1. Well, use the money to get yourself a can of Stinky Goodness. Mother's Day? Bah. What a crock. Is there an official "Cat Appreciation Day?" No. Don't understand why the humans need to have days to celebrate themselves. Anyways, all you have to do to make humans happy is to give them lots of purrs and kisses and they seem content.

  3. Ayla, there is a Cat Appreciation Day. Max declared it last year. I forget right off when it is, though.

  4. I say scatter the marbles in the hallway in the middle of the night so that when she wakes up, she'll do that cartoony run/stumble/slide/fall on the marbles.

Then you can save the cash to buy something for you.

I think the marble stunt could be considered giving "the gift of entertainment."

  5. I think you should make a collage with the marbles and shiny coins. You could title it, "An Ode to My Maternal Homo Sapien", or "AOMMHS" for short which then rhymes with "ALMS" sort of...which she could then interpret as your charitable deed for the day.

  6. You can trade the 8 marbles for a ratlet baby for your Mom, fresh from Hawaii ~Merlin, Shadow, ko ko

  7. You could sell the marbles on E-bay and buy her something while you're there.
