Springtime.

What I love about spring is that all my bird friends start singing very early, even before the sun is up. I think they're saying good morning to each other and talking about where to have breakfast. They sing me awake and I get into the window and look for them until Mom gets up.

What I don't love about spring is all the wind, which is what's happening tonight. It's noisy and scary. Plus, I get worried that all my married bird friends might lose their homes and families when the wind whips the branches all around. Keep your paws crossed that everybody stays safe tonight!

  2. Squilliam, you are kind to worry about the birds. That's why I adore you so...you are so sensitive.

  4. Oooh, I never thought of the birdies! We had WIND on Monday, and mama was sooo cold when she camed home! But the wind stopped being so blowey, and I think they are all safe. Mr. Squirrel did not tell me of any tragedies in the local birdie community. Some of the flowers, however, did not survive the cold.

  6. Wasn't the wind terrible last night? I thought for sure the roof was going to cave in on us! The Mother said don't be silly, Badness.

My Mother has been meaning to ask what is the name of the birds that sings to early. Is it the Robins? We have a family of Robins in our pine tree.

  11. Hey Badness,

I'm pretty sure the early singers are the robins. I can hear them everywhere but I think they all live across the street where there are nice pine trees. You're lucky to have a family so close!
