Great Backyard Bird Count.

Who could imagine this could be so very much fun? I watched for birds all weekend. I saw a bunch of each: mourning doves, Inca doves, white winged doves, house sparrows, house finches and phoebes. I think I even saw a cowbird! Then I saw a black-crowned night heron, a blue-winged teal, and a snow goose.

Oh, wait. I guess I was only imagining the last three when I was thinking about dinner.

  3. It am too wintery here in The Big Piney Woods for the birds to show me their tail feathers! I don't even know any names for bird, I just know I like to eat them.

  4. We tend to get a lot of wood pigeons and not many other birdies coming to our bird table. But recently I have noticed Mr. and Mrs. Blackbird have moved in. My mum is hoping for baby blackbirds to watch this summer.

  6. Birds bore me since I can't get outside to eat them. The Brats love to smack themselves in the window to try to get at them. Explains why they are so dumb.

  7. DKM and I did this on Saturday morning from the patio. We reported 25 different kinds of birdies: Finches, pelicans, seagulls, mallards, doves, sparrows, a hawk, an owl, pheasant, humming birds, herons, and robins.
